The purpose of the Senior Citizen Program is to provide social, educational, nutrition, transportation, health and wellness programs to enrich the lives of those 60 years of age and older. Our objective is to keep older persons active and aware of current happenings, especially in areas that directly affect their lives. We strive to provide opportunities for our members to use their abilities and experience to contribute to the community at large.
The Senior Citizen Program has been in existence in the Town of Hamburg for over 30 years; under the direction of the Senior Services Department. The staff consists of a Town Director, Senior Citizen Supervisor, Recreation Specialist, Adult Day Care Coordinators, Program Assistants, Club Leaders, Nutrition Managers, Nurses, Social Worker, Transportation Dispatchers, Van Drivers, Craft Specialists, Fitness Instructors, Secretarial staff & numerous Volunteers
The Director, John Farrell acts as a liaison between all programs in the Town and is responsible for Town-wide programming.
The Town of Hamburg Senior Services Department is located at 4150 Sowles Rd., Bldg. H. In addition to the Senior Citizen Offices, the building also houses: a fitness wing, theraputic pool, locker rooms, dining room, billiard room and a classroom. The Senior Services Bldg. is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.; Summer hours are from 9:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. (Memorial Day until Labor Day).
The Senior Services Department also operates an Adult Day Care Center located at 353 Pleasant Ave., in the Village of Hamburg. The Adult Day Services Program operates Monday - Friday, 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.; Summer hours 9:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.. (Memorial Day until Labor Day).

The Senior Services Department publishes a monthly newsletter The Prime Times. The newsletter contains programs which are available to Town of Hamburg senior citizens, as well as many current events. For further information on Senior Services that are available call 646-0665.
